Mite Papering to deal with Mite Infestation

I recently noticed an early phase of a mite infestation on one of my sp blues.

I dealt with it the way I normally do and I have tried to document it.
So here goes:

As you will see, the mite's are circled in red

Firstly I scrape off the easy to reach ones on the carapace and the beginnings of the fangs with a thick piece of paper
Then I go for the ones in it's joints.

Also check right underneath it's body to see if there are any mites hiding between the uneven surface and get rid of them if u spot any.
Fortunately, mine did not have any mites there yet.

Next I swipe her fangs with paper like I would with a credit card to clear off some mites between them. If the infestation is serious there may be A LOT of mites here so it might take some time but you'll have to try to get them all out.

Hold the T as you can see in the picture with your thumb and middle/ring finger and be sure you maintain a firm yet gentle grip on your T at all time. If you feel that the T is slipping, you can try using your index finger to push the carapace down and adjust it accordingly.

I hope this helps. I managed to save a half dead 2.5" parahybana from a massive mite attack using this method and now she's a 6.5" monster

Ah sa old world naman ako mas sanay humawak, sa new world kasi allergic ako, nagkakapantal ako pag na exposed ako sa hairs nila, kahit mag hand wash agad ako. Napansin ko din na kahit agree yung sp. kapag wala sila sa territory nila hindi sila kumakagat, bukod na lang pag na provoke siempre deffensive sila lalo na KB, peru pag smooth handling di naman sila nangangagat ng basta-basta. And regarding sa bites, may tinatawag din yung mga PRO na deadly bite at safe bite.

Experiment: Wag basta basta gagawin.

Story: Based on my own expirience, nakita ko lang dati ito nung bata ako around 11 yrs. old siguro, yung tito ko nakahuli ng malaking BEE dati parang TARANTULA HAWK yung look. Ang ginawa niya pinatulog niya ito sa isang enclosure using the smoke of cigarette, he showed it to me pano niya ginawa, and yung BEE unti unting nahihilo, then nung unti unti na siyang natutulog yung excess smoke tinagal na. Then observed namin yung BEE after a couple of minutes nagising din siya.

Theory: Natulog yung BEE which is inverts din, so naisip ko na baka pwede din ang process na ito sa mga alaga nating inverts. So i tried it some of my sp. HUANI "Asian Fawn" Tarantula, ORPH & 2 pcs. longimanus scorp. Success naman sila na matulog but one of the sp. didn't wake up "means dead na kaya?" yep nadeads. Dun sa mga nagising parang stress na stress sila, but now ok's naman na. " But still di ko parin alam anu magiging outcome nito in the future".

PURPOSES:
One of my purpose is ventral sexing siguro, sa mga agrre sp. pag tulog madali i sex kapag hindi matay na mag molt. And also if inffected with mites, masmadali linisin.

Yep 3x bitten na din. Kaya medyo totoo yung sinasabi ng mga PRO na may deadly bite at safe bite. Ussualy yung deadly bite yun yung nakagat ka pag nasa enclosure siya, nasa territory kasi w/c is my venom ang bite niya. Yung safe bite yung handle mo siya yung walang venom (in my own experience). But still anytime pwede din mababaliktad yung situation.
