mites

Mites problem:
- Generally speaking, as long that the mites are white and are seen crawling in and out of the substrate, they are only scavengers which feeds on dead preys' parts, some keepers refer them as "Predatory/ Good mites"

IME mga pest ang mites sa pets natin.Iniistress nila ang pets natin at pwede magbigay ng mga sakit.

sir ang alam ko nakakmatay sa inverts ntn un mites lalo n sa slings at EGW,

try to prevent nlng sir kasi mahirap alisin un mites kapg nagumpisa n sila maginfest sa mga alaga mo

Oo.Pero pwede naman ilipat mo muna yung scorp mo sa temporary enclo tapos yung original enclo ispray mo ng mainit na tubig tapos patuyuin mo as in bone dry para mawala ang mites then ibalik mo na yung scorp mo. yun ang ginagawa ko and it works for me thumbs up

As long as minimal lang yung mites di nman nkakasama,
true na pgka sobrang rami they cause stress and in worst cases death.

In my opinion, a few mites is good kasi nga they consume the remains/leftover ng alaga nting inverts this can prevent or minimize the presence of fungus that may cause infection for inverts..

for this im sure, kalaban ng eggs and mites.. specially sa feeder colony(such as; s.worm, m.worm, lats,etc..) na poorly maintain. i mean GRABE kung rumami ang mites sa colony na mraming patay o naiwang pagkain.

nag research ako about sa mites since they appeared in my tank as well.
one forum explain it very nicely,..
they said if the mites are:
1) white
2) moving around
3) jumping
-They are GOOD mites, the ones that move around are most probably Predator Mites which eats Bad mites.

1) mites sticking on your scorp most notably in joint areas
-They are the BAD mites which might cause disease or death

there are advantages to having mites such as:
1) good mites eat bad mites
2) good mites eat left over foods

If you're not sure if they're Good or Bad just play it safe and sterilize the substrate by:
1) pre heat the over to 350F
2) place the substrate on a cookie sheet or any sheet for baking
3) heat for about 10-15 mins

i've decided to sterilize mine haha better safe than sorry,.. ksi i saw little snails wondering about the tank,.. i'm not sure if they're good or not at hindi din lumabas sa research ko ung snail type na mite,.. i don't even know if they are still considered as mites haha.

takot na ko sa mites, ung last na T ko nakita ko nalang na dedz at may mga mites na sa abdomen, though di ko sure kung sila ang cause of death pero mas ok na ung safe. linis nalang mabuti ng enclo.

gusto ko ung idea ni 'smb n lagyan ng hot water. pwede cguro i microwave?
