how to determine if b.smithi male is ready for mating?

Hi guys.
I just to ask a question,
I have a 3 year old red knee b.smithi,
I just want to know if you can just determine if male is ready for mating just by its age.
My tarantula's fusilae or tibial hook is already visible but hard to see.
Is there any easier way to find out if its ready for mating?

usually at that age mature na ang male BUT not applicable to all ts since my 5inch B. smithi male is still not mature until now, mga 4years ko na cyang alaga and last molt nya is 2years ago..if familiar ka sa tibial hook then I assume you know about the males' ultimate molt (pedipalps with 'boxing gloves' and tibial hooks on front legs on some sp). If visible na yung tibial hook sa smithi mo then mature na yan, di yan mahirap makita since nasa dulo lang cya ng front two legs nakalagay.. hope this helps..=)

salamat sa reply sir. Visible na ung tibial hook hnd lang ako sure sa boxing gloves na sinasabi and how it actually looks like, alam ko na sia ung nasa malapit sa mouth pero hnd ako sure kung mature enough na.... SAlamat po ulit sa reply Smile

Kung may hooks or boxing gloves mature na yan. Hindi lahat ng Ts may hooks pero sayo meron.

wow! 9gager! nakita ko na ung hook nia, madalas sia nasa gilid ng aquarium kaya nakikita ko
