Too much moisture causes molds. It is a fungus, so what you can do is to wash it with salt & water, rinse it thoroughly and let it dry.

May i suggest you to avoid spraying water directly to the wood to reduce the risk of having molds.

The key is proper ventilation. Your enclosure must have cross ventilation to allow air circulation. Sometimes, air holes on top is not sufficient especially if your containers are stacked on top of each other. Drill additional holes on the side of your enclosure. In my experience, drilling holes right above the substrate level does the trick.

Another thing which might help is the careful selection of your decor. You can use pieces of tile, clay pot, or stones instead of wood.

I've had issues with mold in the past. I also discovered that molds bothers us (aesthetically) more than it bothers your scorp. Especially tropical scorps.

I've seen natural habitats where tropical scorps and tarantulas are found living in decaying tree stumps with molds and other fungi.

H. longimanus and other similar species are obligate burrowers. You need to provide a hide or deep substrate. It does not molt upside down like most bark scorpions do, so providing it with a bark as a climb will be for decor for your own pleasure rather than a necessity.
