Salamat po mga sir. I'll try to update this topic once a week. Subject would be Molting, behavior, temperament, diet, etc. Para to sa mga katulad ko ding mga beginners.

-Dec. 2 2010-

The day I got them. Tinanong ko kung nakakain na sila at sabi hindi pa. 1st thing I did is dinamihan ko ng kaunti ang mga butas ng lalagyan nila. Then I fed the 3 slings with baby cockroaches.

My boehmie was very active. When I put the 1st roach, BAM! Kain agad. Then after a few minutes, naglaglag agad ako ng 1 pa. Same result. Wala pang 5 seconds nasa bibig na agad ni Boehmie. then I switched over to my Pulchripes and Albo.

Paglagay ko palang ng roach dun sa lalagyan ng Pulchripe unbelievably it molted right away. Medyo nagulat ako. 1st time ko nakakita ng nagmomolt na ipis. Anyway, pagtapos nya mag molt nilapitan agad sya ng Pulchripe. Ayun kinain. Sarap na sarap siguro ung pulchripe as he was eating a freshly molted lunch. Isa lang pinakain ko sa kanya. Medyo mataba na kasi.

Then to my albo. I immediately put 2 roaches sa enclosure. Hindi gumagalaw yung albo. Nilalakaran nalang sya ng mga ipis. Sabi ko baka busog iwan ko muna.

2 din agad ang nilagay ko sa smithi and emilia pero hindi nila kinakain. Yung emilia parang takot pa sa ipis kahit maliit pa sa kanya. Naging malikot sya sa lalagyan. Parang hindi mapakali. Sabi ko iwan ko nalang yung mga feeders for 24 hours. Tanggalin ko nalang ulit kapag ayaw talaga nila kumain.

Habang nilalagay ko sila sa pwesto nila. (A bowl with water in it. Half of the glass is submerged while the other half serves as stand sa mga enclosure nila to avoid ants) Napansin ko ubos na pagkain nung albo. Wow ha! Mahiyain sya...


-December 3-

Pag uwi ko galing office kinuha ko ung vitamins ng anak ko. Meron syang parang drops sa loob. Kinuha ko to, binanlawan, kumuha ng tubig at pinatak ko once sa gilid ng enclosure ng emilia, smithi, boehmie. Sa albo at pulchripe pinatakan ko naman ng 3 times.

No feeders for today

-December 4-

I decided to feed them once again. This time medyo kakaibang method na ginamit ko pang huli ng roaches. Last time when I was done with them kumuha ako ng karton ng tissue paper. Yung pabilog sa gitna. Nilagyan ko ng crumpled na dyaryo sa gitna then nilagay ko sa lalagyan. This time yung iba nasa karton. Kumuha ako ng plastic na maliit. Nakakita ako ng pang Ice Candy. Shoot ko sa butas then onting taktak and aun, andun na sila s loob. Mas madali na magpakin since hindi na ako hirap sa paghuli sa kanila at napipili ko ang exact size ng gusto kong ipakain.

Nothing new. Kumain parin ung 3 ng tig 1-2 roaches except emilia and smithi but I'm not really worried. Active naman kasi sila. Sabi nga ni Sir Cradle and Tatoo eh obserbahan ko muna. Baka premolt na sila.

Wow, grabe sa narration Sir Zhayne, kumpleto talaga lahat ng details.. im sure in 2 to 3 months makikita na mga adult colors ng mga yan, pakainin mo lang ng pakainin para mabilis sila lumaki. Good Job!~

-December 6-

I decided not to feed them today but make a simple enclosure instead. I went to ACE Hardware (Alabang Town Center) yesterday and bought the following items.

1. Cocopeat. P39.75 Not sure but the only one I found has small charcoal bricks.
2. Osmunda Fibers. P45.50 I want to experiment with my substrate so I included.
3. Plastic Enclosure. P52.50
4. Paint Brush. P16.25 Useful if you want your tarantula to move.

First thing I did is binutasan ko muna ang mga enclosures sa gilid at taas. Binabad ko yung peat sa tubig para medyo lumambot. Napansin ko meron syang mga maliliit na uling so kumuha ako ng strainer para ma separate sila then continued straining.

Then kinuha ko yung mga osmunda fibers at hinimay himay ko sila kasi masyadong mahaba. I combined them with a total of 90-10% ratio majority cocopeat. Nilagyan ko ng kaunting tubig.

The next step is transferring my T's. It took me 10 minutes just to transfer my Pulchripe to its new enclosure. Ayaw kasing gumalaw at syempre nagiging mas maingay ako kasi first time ko silang hahawakan. *Never hold your T's kung takot kayong makagat.* I did it because wala akong ibang choice. Cooperative naman sila. Hindi naman sila msyado aggressive. Naging ugali lng talaga nilang tumakbo at dumungaw sa taas ng enclosure everytime binubuksan ko to. Nakakakaba nga lang kasi mabilis silang tumatakbo.

So far mukang maayos naman sila at comfortable sa new enclosure nila.

Hindi ko na na uupdate to kasi medyo busy. I started last December 2 2010. Currently I have 11 now and enjoying taking care of them

I currently have 2. Eto lang nakuhanan ko ng picture kasi nakatago yung isa sa hide nya. Both of them are defensive. Hindi sila umaatras, d natatakot, sila pa ang lalapit sa forceps ko at kakagatin. Ako tuloy ang natatakot. Not that aggressive though, di naman nila ako pinapansin kapag naglilinis ako ng enclosure.
This one is 2 inches while the other is around 1.8"

Ill post a ventral pic. para ma identify. There was an instance na habang naglilinis ako sinunggaban nya ang forceps which made me think kahit docile pa sila, kapag may topak wag mong gagalawin. Anyway I usually handle it without any problem. Steady lang sya kapag hawak mo sya.

When I got home earlier today, I noticed my Albo lying on its side (not on his back haha). He/She is molting. I don't know how long he/she was lying there but when I woke up after a 2 hour nap, it was over. Currently around 2"

My Brachypelma Emilia and Pamphobeteus Machala (#1) molted last jan. 25 and 26. Both of them did'nt show any huge changes.
