| I am currently in the works for an outdoor enclosure for my sailfin. question ko lang po,is it safe for the sailfins to be left overnight sa isang prototype outdoor enclosure? okay na po kasi yung daytime temperature, worry ko po yung sa nighttime. | |

| they originate in places na may masmalamig na night time temp kesa sa urban cities so you dont have to worry about that. kung prototype enclo dapat escape proof yan at di mapapasok ng daga at mga ipis na posibleng contaminated with pesticide

| @TS They can withstand cool temps at night time. for outdoor set up, this is the following you should take note. 1. make sure that there will be direct sunlight hitting your enclosure. --> why? Sailfin needs heat, they bask in the wild. this doesn't need na buong enclosure tinatamaan, mas maganda part a part of the enclosure lang. 2. malaking source of water sa loob ng enclosure. --> this is for drinking, and humidity or paligu-an nila. at they will soak in water if they feel that they need to cool down. 3. Branches, since they always stay at trees sa wild kelangan eto para mas parang nasa wild sila. Iwas stres. 4. Hide/Shade, if they don't need heat, they will stay in this place. This will avoid them for overheating which causes heatstroke for most reptiles in captivity na napapabayaan dahil sa maling akala. another thing, I'd rather not put live plants, kakainin nila yan, if its not edible para sa kanila. baka malason pa. hope it helps - dlonelyboy wrote:

just to correct.. mali pong pag bigay ng UV sa night time. they'll be stress lang. it's because they need to sleep too.. | |

Thanks a lot. natapos ko na yung cage, but my problem is that nagkasugat yung sailfin ko cause of ramming the wire, I used the common screen mesh, the green plastic screen, then napansin ko yung wound nya sa mouth this morning, slight lang naman pero I'm worried that his Mouth Rot may come back. Everything on the list is done with my cage, wala naman sharp edges, so ano po maganda gawin? should I put him back to my custom Durabox?(I used this with my Nile Croc when she was still small, 10 inches in length) meron naman po kase yun screen and naarawan naman yung sailfin ko dun, but not much. Or should I stay with the Custom Cage?
