Assist-feeding

do you have scorpions na tamad kumain or tamad maghunt ng prey item nila? then you can assist feed your scorp.

procedure:

1. make sure that your scorp is in a small enclosure, deli cup or other small container na pwede nila iispend ang overnight or until the food is consumed. (para hindi magalaw ang scorp mo, it maybe stressful for your scorp pag 1st time mo triny)

2. get 1 superworm (with head removed) or other pre-killed insect. (make sure that their guts are oozing out)

3. using forceps, slowly stick the oozing part of their food sa chelicerae nila. (make sure na gumalaw ung chelicerae nila to grab the food. your scorp may appear defensive at first or drop the food. if this happens just slowly repeat the process)

4. slowly and gently cover the enclosure. feed again if desired.

in this way napapakain at napopower feed ko yung r.junceus kong dati e once every 2 months lang kumain at yung h.spinifer kong tamad maghunt.

p.s. this method is best for medium to big scorpions and scorpions na hindi aggressive or mabilis ung reflexes.

sayang lang minsan pag crix o lats di rin kinakain ng scorps ko sa katamaran kaya yun namamatay ang feeder. hedgehogs o skinks nlng nakikinabang haha

I also do this but i use lats, finoforceps ko ang katawan nila til lumabas ang juices then binabawasan ang legs(talk about insect cruelty, hehe) then ilalagay na sa enclo, ayun, kinabukasan wala na, kung healthy lats kasi hindi minsan nahuhuli eh

Tipid nga pag mga worms kaso minsan nahihirapan din ang mga scorp na kainin ito , masyado kase silang mapalag kaya nabibitawan na scorp ..

pag crix naman pinisat mo, umaamoy agad kaya mabilis maka-attract ng langgam at mites

Hindi sila ma stress kung lagi to gawin? Kung lagi sila ililipat sa smaller enclo? Sa 1st time lang?

@bro Mazach maiistress sila try mo na 2-3 times a week na lng.. hehe pag maliit pa nmn pwede pa sila sa delicups hehe.. ang tatakaw ng mga HH mo bro.. haha ubos agad mga nymphs na lats na binili ko haha..

sa akin nmn binibigyn ko ng 2-3 lats mga scorp ko para mkhuli sila khit isa lng haha..
minsan pinapalapit ko mga lats sa scorp para kainin agd haha

Dagdag , nagagawa ko lang to pag super gutom na yung scorps ko ..
Pag di masyado , di ko talaga sila napapakain ng worms kahit anung gawin ko ..
Pero pag roaches ang inoffer , sipit agad at wala nang kawala haha

actually you don't have to put the scorpion in a small container. kakain yan pagsinubo mo sa kanya yung juicy worm. Wink

if ur not applying powerfeeding to ur inverts u dont nid to assist feed!!!
If u feed ur pets on ryt times guaranteed wen dey feel hungry kakain yan. no need to force dem to eat. And it also dpends on wat u feed dem. Meaning un ryt size pr s kakain. Normally, if T'slings it shud be d size of der abdomen. and if for scorpslings half der total length tip to tip.
Dont over feed or powerfeed. Let ur pets grow normally.
The point is enjoy ur hobby. Wag kyo magmadali. Dun mkikita ang tunay n pag aalaga.
Its worth caring and waiting for it to mature.

Maybe ur scorp's enclosure is too large fot its size. or wrong temp & humid? Pwd rin badmolt or dehydrated. Maybe stress.

napansin ko pag mataas masyado ang humidity nawawalan gana kumain ang longi e. kaya binalik ko siya sa dating open top enclo nya tapos leaf litter ang substrate kasi mas masipag siya maghunt at kumain pag andun

Heterometrus longimanus scorps prefer high humidity wen wen its envirolments temp is high. Commonsense lng!! Dey r found in deep forest near waters. Dey dug dem self in muds and soil. If u happen to buy a wild caught u may notice its dirt all over its body. Un communal tank q consist of 15pcs 5i H.longi q nga flooded un quarter side. Sometyms in Midnoon i see some of dem takin a dip. Maybe to cool der selves.
Since 1st instar mgkksm n cla now deyr in der 5th instar. Wl nmn cassualties. Bst my feeders roach and millworms, dey trive and survive d community.

thank you for your opinions.

now in my defense, scorpions are our pets. we as owners have the sole responsibility for the well-being of our pets. yes, it is nice to watch our scorps hunt and eat on their own and if they don't (for a very long time), we need to make an intervention. though scorpions can live for months without food, they certainly die for being, let us say, hungry. so if you wanna hope for your scorp to hunt all the time or watch it die from starvation, then might as well return it to the wild. now as for powerfeeding, no captive scorpions have died from too much eating. then again too much and too little of everything can be perilous.

assist-feeding is a last resort/choice. it is a personal preference and for reference only.
