Newbie from Las Pinas

Hi all, im a newbie interested in scorpions. I'm a bit scared to touch insects in general, but when i personally saw an H. longi of one of my friend, i knew that i can take care these beautiful creatures.

so as a newbie, im choosing between h. longi and emperors, but im leaning towards the latter. what do you guys recommend? price estimate as well? what instar is best to begin with? where particular pet store (in las pinas, alabang, cartimar) is best to go to for h. longi and emperor? what equipment/setup are needed?

i can use all the info i can get, im currently researching for tips in taking care scorpions.

to PEP,sir... both species are best scorps for beginners but emperor scorpions are more pricey and rarer than longi.. try searching for them in the classified ads section of this forum or try looking for them on sulit.ph..

Taga Las Pinas din po ako, San Antonio lang.. heheh..
Wow Scorps. ako din yan un pinaka first invert ko.. H. Longimanus at syempre ipis.. maganda yan bro.. nakakaadik ang Scorps... Payo lng kaibigan.. Go for the forest type (Low level venom ) first before jumping to next level... Wink

Di talaga mawala sa newbie like us ang Longi..

+1 ako dito praktis praktis ka muna sa mga low level venom scorps start ka sa longi,imac,pag may budget ka emperor agad praktis ka muna jan hehehe yung mga hot scorps sa tabi tabi lang yan dadating yung time na mag aacquire kana and ready to get some Very Happy

thank you for the warm welcome. i've been reading this site for a day, and i already got tons of info. this is a truly great site for exotic pets. thumbs up

im quite decided already to start with emperors. I think ill buy one male 1st. do you guys think i should start with an adult emperor?

what store/seller can i buy for scorp enclosures, feeds, and other stuff in or near las pinas/alabang area?

P.S. my gf also said i should get a tarantula. im eyeing the B. smithi. but that will come after my 1st scorp Very Happy

para sa akin sir mga 3i muna na scorp muna. mas mura kesa adult at hindi din sure kung ilan nalang itatagal ng buhay pag adult ang kinuha mo. pero nasa sayo pa din yun.. haha ok ang smithi pero mga brachypelma albopilosum ka muna o kaya chaco golden knee kung gusto mo ng mejo mahal ng konti lang. hehe welcome sa pep sir drinks
