okay from purebreeds, let's talk about our own native dog.

An askal is a mixed-breed (mongrel) dog in the Philippines. The name is a Tagalog-derived contraction of asong kalye (street dog). It is applied to mongrels due to their often stray nature. In Cebuano, mongrel dogs are called irong Bisaya, which literally means a native dog.To counter perceived political incorrectness, the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) has suggested the alternative term Aspin, short for asong Pinoy (Pinoy dog).
Askals are often more resilient and street-smart than purebreds, but unlike in other countries, mixed breeds are not popular choices as pets in the Philippines. These dogs however are now being considered for training as bomb-sniffing dogs as purebred dogs of the Philippine K9 units are becoming too old to work and too expensive to maintain.

I'm a proud owner of a mongrel. The picture above is my aspin dog, her name is ximen. She was sold to us for 100php 6 six years ago nung karpintero ng kapitbahay namin, which she got lost lang dun sa bahay na ginagawa ng kapit bahay namin.

she is sweet and loyal dog and I can say compare sa mga shih tzu ko mas sweet pa din si ximen at mabait with other dogs kaysa sa kanila.

binigay sya saking bday gift(debut to be exact) ng mother ko..
ng magkaron ako ng breed dogs i heard lots of discrination against her. since alam naman natin pag aspin yung iba mababa ang tingin diba?

not all aspin naman mahaba ang ngipin. and for me well meron akong shih tzu 6 and 2 poodle pero like i said of all the dogs that i have ung aspin ko pa din ang mas sweet at malambing and they are loyal talaga.
