| Yeah. Hehe. Nakawala lang sila sa terrace namin. Para they can get enough heat and they can roam around whenever they want to. | |

I feed my sulcata kang kong. Okay ba yon? How can I avoid pyramiding? Nakakapraning hahah. Thnks bro, been giving her TLC . Iba ksi diet ng desert tort from a rain forest type tort. What is essential to a redfoot maybe bad for an african spur thighed tort. ok naman yung kang kong but variety is the key para mkuha nya diff nutrients na nid nya. my friend feeds his sulcata petchay, gumamela flowers and leaves and he lets the tort graze in his garden na full of diff weeds and grasses. ofcourse supplement its diet w/calcium or you can use cuttlebone scrappings and vitamins for reptiles. Hope this helps and gudluck! PS. Btw Elongata and redfoot has the same diet requirements.

But of course sir. They are quite hardy and I think they know their names when you keep calling them. Hahaha. LOL. - dlonelyboy wrote:

I used to have one but died due to unknown reasons (I gave it to my grandparents then kasi busy). Then I bought another. But they are so expensive at the moment.

Salamat sir Gagamboy. Mabait pa siya at hindi nahihiya sa tao. Yung dati ko kasi, laging takot sa tao. Might as well show this rare find. Yung irregular scutes niya ay mukhang remote control (has R, L, Up and down and then the channels lol)

Ilang months/taon nyo po sya nung nabili nyo and if you dont mind, magkano? She's going to be 2 years this April 2013 po. 1 month old nung nabili ko (if my memory serves me right).. Singlaki lang siya ng golfball dati..now she's grown as large as my palm.. Mura ko lang po siya nabili sir.. Kasi they thought she's a "runt" since the scutes are irregular but based on my researches, these irregular scutes are formed due to exposure to higher incubating temperatures when they were still eggs.. And since their gender is highly determined by the temperature they were incubated to, I believe that she and her features are likely female.. The higher the temperature = Females The lower the temperature = Males The cut-off temperature to determine high or low temperature is 30 degrees Celsius.

| 1 month? Wow...you're an expert in keeping torts, i heard they are hard to keep especially during their 1st yr, high mortality rate daw, thats why for newbies they recommend to get at least a yearling | |

Oo sir. I proved that pero I gave another try why I didn't really repented.. Mabilis madehydrate ang mga less than year old and basking them under the sun is a pain kasi timed lang (I used to let Yui bask for less than 20 minutes then soak a bit again).. And in my strategy, I cut the leaves of what I feed until about 8 months kasi di nila gagalawin yung food.. Pati lighting (since indoor pa sila by this stage) dapat timed.. But it was all worth it.. May ipapaman na ako sa mga apo ko..
